About Chef Robert Miller

I am Chef Robert Miller and welcome to my cookbook for better BM’s. Over the course of my life, I have been heavily involved in the food industry. Having done everything from catering to pop-ups to hosting monthly supper clubs at private residences, I’ve seen and done a lot. It has given me the depth and breadth of knowledge to create amazing food moments for my guests and I am sharing my fiber-fueled recipes with you here. Not only have I dedicated my life to showing love through my food, but I have also had to deal with constipation on a regular basis. With the many surgeries I have had and the use of pain meds after, I am well versed in the effects of a sluggish GI system. That is how I got the nickname Sir Poopsalot. I am taking a lighthearted approach to this cookbook, but make no mistake—these recipes are serious and designed to help anyone who needs to poop.

It is imperative for good health to have your GI system working well at all times. Unfortunately, there are lots of reasons a person may get constipation, such as a slow GI, not getting enough fiber and opioid use to name a few. Having had 10 surgeries over the course of 10 years, Sir Poopsalot is very familiar with the consequences of regular opioid use, primarily constipation. Opioids slow down the movement of stool through your bowel or intestines. This gives your bowel more time to take the water out of your stool, making it hard, dry and difficult to pass. Hard poops are never fun and can be very painful.

I would like to propose a more natural approach to help this situation. We have found that if you are getting enough hydration and eating the recommended amount of fiber daily, reliance on stool softeners and laxatives can be decreased or eliminated completely. I wrote this cookbook to provide constipation sufferers with practical guidance on increasing your fiber intake. If you follow some of the simple recipes that follow, you can have great BM’s without taking more pills. Remember that your daily goal is to reach 25 grams of fiber for women and 35 grams for men.

Always consult with your physician before changing your eating and exercise routines to ensure you are compliant with your current treatment plan.

I sincerely hope that anyone needing this kind of help, whether for yourself or for a loved one, will find these recipes easy, tasty and effective in helping you go on the regular.

Enjoy,
Robert Miller
